A brief Overview
Oil spills are caused by offshore drilling and oil tankers that leak. Throughout the years, the exposure of oil spills to wildlife and coastal communities contribute to the deterioration of the ocean. Animals and the geographical contents are covered in tar that devastate the local agricultural, tourism and fishing economy.
Oil spills from tankers are thick, insoluble and take centuries to degrade natural. Exxon Valdez, BP Oil Spill and smaller spills in the Persian Gulf are just some of the thousands of spills worldwide.
